Our mission is to sustain and build educational programs and add community outreach to all people in Nimba County, Liberia.
We want to expand the interest in making GVTI an impactful tool to improve education and quality of life for the people in and around Nimba County. GVTI will succeed once the plans for a campus are completed, where students can concentrate on learning new skills, not concerned about getting to school. The completion of the student housing will offer an extraordinary value.
It highlights the idea of adding solar power to a school teaching electricity, as well as impacting Nimba County's education and living standards. Providing power through solar energy will magnify the ability for students to learn and improve their living accommodations. The impact on the whole region will be enlightening.
Money is still needed to complete the school's buildings. Currently solar energy is available in Liberia but on smaller scales. A free standing solar plant providing needed power for a facility like GVTI would be unique. The cost will be sizable. The value will be priceless. Liberia has, at best, a very weak power grid where available. Enlighten Nimba wants to see a solar grid started. This will power the school, offer electricity class training, comfortable living accommodations, and add light to community education services after dark.
